Gender Program Support Officer
Johney Lerafa, a father of a little girl, received his BA in Public Administration and Political Science from the National University of Lesotho in 2011. After school, he attended Help Lesotho’s Youth Leaders in Training program, which he describes as essential for empowering young people. He was inspired to change his life for the better and was chosen to be a Youth Leader Volunteer. In August 2014, Ntate Johney was promoted to Gender Program Support Officer. He oversees the Young Mothers program, and organizes Youth Empowerment in Schools Clubs to teach students about life skills, HIV awareness and gender equity. Ntate Johney is passionate about promoting gender equity and empowering this generation’s youth to prevent HIV and become responsible citizens of Lesotho.
